  • Where is CDA located?
    Our headquarters and training facility are both located at: 31 Granite Street, Suite 4, Milford, MA 01757 Get Directions
  • Are your instructors background checked?
    All of CDA’s instructors are required to submit a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) form as part of their employment with Centerpoint Driving Academy
  • Is CDA registered by Massachusetts RMV?
    Yes, Centerpoint Driving Academy is fully licensed and approved by the Massachusetts RMV. In addition, CDA is fully insured for covering all it’s employees and vehicles.
  • How much does 30-hour classroom portion cost?
    The classroom portion of the fee is included in the SUV packages we offer.
  • How much is the parent class?
    The parent class is free if you purchase the SUV package. If purchased separately the cost is $30.
  • What is the payment policy?
    CDA offers two payments as indicated below: Prepayment Plan – Pay in full at the time of registration.. 3 Payment Plan - Pay $350 deposit at time of registration, $350 before the first lesson, and $235 before the sixth lesson. All payments must be made on line through the portal.
  • How much are driving lessons?
    Driving lessons are part of the SUV Package. The is no additional charge for observation. The total for 12 hours of driving and 6 hours observation is covered in each package.
  • How do I make payments?
    All students have an online user portal access with a password. ALL payments must made online via credit or debit card through the student portal. We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express and Debit Cards.
  • How far in advance can I schedule driving lessons?
    Lessons may be scheduled 30 days in advance with pre-payment. Lessons must be scheduled a minimum of 48 hours apart. Please log on to website and click the SCHEDULE A LESSON button in upper right hand corner. Lessons for the next day must be scheduled by 5pm on the previous day.
  • What if I miss a class? Can classes be made up?
    Yes, students can make up missed class by a attending a future scheduled class covering the same modules.
  • Will I be able to use an SUV during my road test?
    Yes, students can opt to complete their road test in an SUV
  • Where are students picked up for driving lessons?
    When scheduling lessons students may designate whether they want to be picked up at home or their local high school.
  • If I already completed a parent class for my other child, do I still have to take it again?"
    If you have completed a parent class within the past five years, you do not have to complete it again. However, you will need to provide proof of attendance.
  • How do I schedule my road test?
    Please call office to schedule your road test as RMV controls the dates: (508) 217-4447
  • When does the Centerpoint offer road testing sponsorship?
    Centerpoint offers off site road tests where the RMV will provide examiners to come to our site and conduct road testing. The RMV controls what day the test will be held on. This is usually known the week before the test.
  • Should a student have already driven with someone before coming to CDA?
    All students are required to complete 5 hours of behind the wheel instruction with a licensed adult prior to taking their first lesson with CDA.
  • What is the fee for taking the alternative road test with the Centerpoint?
    The cost of the road test is included as part of your package fee. This includes the sponsorship, the use of Centerpoint vehicle, and warm-up lesson before testing. The fee for Centerpoint driver's ed student re-takes in the event of a previous failure with Centerpoint is $145.
  • What do I need to bring to the test?
    You will need your permit and a properly and legibly completed application form in pen that is signed by you and your parent/guardian who authorizes you to obtain your license. Click on the link on our web site for License Application.
  • What should I wear for my test?
    Dress appropriately and show the examiner that you’re ready to have your license and responsible enough to be out on your own. No hats, pajamas, and do not wear sandals or flip-flops during driving lessons and especially on test day.
  • What is included in Road Test?
    The package plans includes scheduling of the Road Test, Examiner from RMV, vehicle for Road Test and sponsorship for a Road Test (it does not include RMV fees - $50 License and $35 Road Test scheduling fee - which you will pay directly to the RMV). If the road test is not at an RMV location, it is an additional $20 that the RMV charges.
  • Refunds and Cancellation Fees
    All requests for refunds must be made via email There are no refunds once you have started in a program. There is a $75 cancellation fee for any service purchased to cover credit card fees and admininstrative costs.
  • What forms of identification does the RMV accept?
    One document proving U.S. citizenship or lawful presence/ date of birth such as a: - Certified U.S. birth certificate - U.S. passport - Certificate of Citizenship (Form N-560 or N-561) One document proving MA residency, such as: - Any document issued by the RMV - Federal, state or municipal-issued documents (i.e. first-class mail) - Alternative Residency Affidavit (LIC111) One document proving your Social Security Number, such as: - Social Security card - W-2 form
  • When and how can I get my Learner’s Permit?
    Age 15 & 9 months: begin the classroom portion of driver education Age 16: apply for a learner’s permit - You must bring your completed permit application form and proof of identification to a full service RMV office - Pass a 25-question exam and a vision test - Consent from a parent or guardian - $30 Fee
  • How long is my Learner’s Permit valid?
    Two years, but you only need it for a minimum of six months.
  • Am I Qualified to apply for my Junior Operator’s License (JOL)?
    You are eligible to apply for your JOL if: - You are at least 16 1/2 years old - Have a valid learner's permit for at least 6 months - Successfully complete driver education program - Complete at least 40 hours of supervised driving practice - Have no traffic violations for 6 months before your road test - Pass the skills exam
  • Can I pay for my road test and license fees online?
    Yes, you can. Once you pass the road test and pay your fees, your permit will serve as your temporary driver's license until your permanent license arrives in the mail.
  • When am I eligible to take a Massachusetts road test?
    You are eligible to take a road test after you have had a permit for 6 months (184 days) of incident-free driving (no at-fault crashes or moving violations). You must complete all class, exam, and behind wheel driving hours 21 days before you the date you can take the road test.
