I just passed my Class D Road Test on the first try, and have Centerpoint Driving Academy to thank. I purchased the complete "SUV Package," and it delivers on every promise advertised. It's the priciest option listed on the site, but it is absolutely worth it (and still a lower price than what alternatives like AAA or East Coast Driving School offer). In addition to the full Driver's Ed classroom experience, this package nets you 12 hours of driving instruction (spread out across 9 appointments) and, most importantly, the privilege to take your road test in the exact same well-maintained Toyota RAV4 you took your driving lessons in. This alone might make the biggest difference for most students.
Jim is a genuine guy who cares about running his program the right way. He's also a very knowledgeable and patient driving instructor who gets results well before you use up your 12 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. His staff are the same way (your driving instructors will alternate between a handful of experienced teachers). The option to have instructors pick you up at your house was a great luxury when scheduling appointments. By the time you take your road test, you will have gone through the motions more times than you can count and will pass it with ease.
The brief "Life Skills Class" included in the package was also a very useful experience in which some basic vehicle maintenance was demonstrated and emergency tools for keeping in your glovebox were handed out. Despite all the great things already offered by Centerpoint Driving Academy, Jim and his staff go above and beyond with open communication with students and making sure they get what they need out of their driving lessons, as well as assisting with organizing the road test itself. It should be noted that Jim and his staff ALWAYS keep up their COVID-19 precautions. Company cars are always cleaned between uses (I usually saw them do it as soon as they pulled up to my house), FACE MASKS ARE ALWAYS ON, extras are kept in the car for students who come without, and ALL DRIVERS ARE GIVEN GLOVES TO WEAR.
I highly recommend this program to anyone who needs to get a permit and/or road test done, especially during this difficult time for anyone trying to do business with the RMV. You'll be in better hands than you can find elsewhere and save some money too.
